Each bit of information is well placed and once you’ve made it through the first fifteen minutes, there is no chance you’ll quit watching ’til the end. The title makes us believe Hof is superhuman, but the documentary shows how human Hof really is. When I rewatch the documentary now (yeah, I watched it a few times already …it’s real good), its the narrative structure that strikes me. Well, he climbed Mount Everest in shorts, holds the world record for being immersed in ice without his core body temperature changing and, on top of that, he came up with a technique that allows anyone to partly control their autonomous nervous system (at least that’s what Hof claims).
